Hey everyone,
Again Happy New Year. It's with heavy hearts that we hear reports about the beautiful country of Zimbabwe on the verge of famine and starvation. Zimbabwe is an interesting paradox and a perfect example of the African Basketcase countries that have emerged in the last 42 years.
Zimbabwe has the world's largest diamond finds and other awesome natural resources. A well-educated population ranked as either Number 1 or Number 2 in literacy in all of Africa at 90%. In the 1990s after standing up to the tyranny and remnant of apartheid policies that rewarded European farmers and their descendants for stealing land from Zimbabwe's black inhabitants - Zimbabwe was put on the proverbial shit list of the West because of apartheid supporters albeit undercover and neocolonialist policy makers pretending to care about human rights in Africa.
Zimbabwe, a country of very peaceful people and the ancient capital of the great Monomotapa Empire has seen the emergence of a generation of Zimbabweans - living in exile, in diasporas in the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, South Africa, China...you name it. Everyone's always running around trying to get their papers..trying to leave, trying to eke out a living anywhere but their own homeland.
Zimbabwe's President Mugabe - is loved and hated. Loved for his policy of education which was his greatest success. Hated for his economic policies which although rooted in the quest for justice and the quest to solve the land issue - has been a pretty big failure. Zimbabwe's only options it seems are to sell her birthright to the industrious Chinese who need the land.
So what about those freedom fighters in the last 100 years, the freedom fighters such as Ambuya Nehanda in the 19th century - what would they say about the results of their blood that was shed - for this sad, pathetic situation of their descendants? With all due respect, did they die so that foreigners could take their children's inheritance? Land is wealth, make no mistake.
Zimbabwe is a text book example of Africa's craziness. Everyone's always trying to figure out what's going wrong. Everyone's trying to create a million charities to help these crazy pathetic people. Seriously, how many millions of dollars have been spent on African charities that "help" the people. But nothing changes? It's still crap. People are still struggling to make a living. There's an African meritocracy class that feels it's their right to just plunder the national wealth that belongs to everyone. They think you're crazy for saying - hey isn't that stealing and isn't stealing wrong? And with all your millions of dollars squandered can't you invest in some good roads for your communities and clean water. It's not THAT expensive!
Zimbabwe can look forward to being run by a woman, President Mugabe's wife Grace and more of the same leadership that really lacks vision. It's really not fair to point fingers because Zimbabwe's failure is not just about one person but about a generation of leaders and a philosophy of leadership born in the past - a past where Zimbabwe, blacks in America and the Caribbean made a wrong turn.
The result is everywhere there are black people - most blacks live in ghettos all over the world - impoverished, living in worn down cities, always trying to make it but never getting anywhere - never going anywhere, begging for mercy...begging for justice from people who across the globe despise them.
We dare to propose that the issue - the reason for this CURSE is because of this 42 year generation of Africa's leaders who turned their back on their heritage and on the real faith that brings about true transformation. These African leaders are a generation of comrades, former slaves, former servants - blacks who embraced a European philosophy of Communism - a philosophy that is based on godlessness, on no morality, and complete selfishness. A philosophy that at it's core denies Africa's rich indigenous heritage, amazing leadership, innovators and true spirituality.
The CURSE on ZIMBABWE is because of what happened to His Imperial Majesty Haile Selassie I and the reign of terror unleashed in 1974/75. His Imperial Majesty was the one who supported these "African leaders" who turned their back on their king. These "African leaders" turned their back on future generations, our generation giving us a worthless future, a future of humiliation and servitude - the direct opposite of the vision of Africa's Father Haile Selassie I. The consequences - Zimbabwe the joke...Zimbabwe - now starving Ethiopians...Zimbabwe...the crap just goes on and on.
What did Zimbabwe have to do with Ethiopias godless and immoral rebellion inn 1974/75? How about harboring one of the criminals responsible for the COMPLETE DISRESPECT AND DISHONOR of the Ethiopian monarchy - Mengistu.
Why was this man and his family given refuge in Zimbabwe? Why was this man allowed to bring a curse upon beautiful Zimbabwe?
The question we have to ask is why did Zimbabwe's people and leaders not speak out against Mengistu. Mengistu - the murderer, the godless man who destroyed our heritage....who dared to come against 3600+ year history, who took it upon himself and his other godless cohorts to remove the throne of David from Africa - the throne of Africa's righteous kings - who had the vision, the courage, the compassion to stand up against colonialism and spoke out on our behalf.
Zimbabwe's curse - it goes back to the bible, the book of Joshua. In the Book of Joshua there's a story about a battle - Father Joshua - the fearless and courageous leader of the nation of Jacob/Israel - who fought to take back the land, our inheritance from godless and wicked leaders. There was a man named Achan. The Israelite military was told to not take anything from the last city they had just conquered but one man did. He took Babylonian items - withcraft, sorcery, money....the next time the Israelites went to battle - they lost. Why? Because Achan had brought an abomination into Jacob's house. The Israelite military was humiliated and defeated. When Father Joshua prayed..the Commander of Heaven's Hosts came down and spoke to him directly and told him - you have an abomination in your house.
Zimbabwe - the abomination in your house is the house of Mengistu. You need to open your mouth and ask for forgiveness. Pastors preaching prosperity gospel and nonsense are not going to set anyone free. Opposition leaders who are nothing more than leaders paid by former colonialists aren't the answer either. God won't be mocked. You don't stand with a man - who humiliated our father and the king who stood up for us when we were in distress and fighting the Rhodesian and British. It's not right. Mengistu put his blood guilt on Zimbabwe's house - if he didn't care for his own people why would he care for Zimbabwe's people?
This is what happens when although people can read - they don't understand. Although people can do the right thing - everything goes wrong.
Zimbabwe owes His Imperial Majesty - Haile Selassie I - an apology. How can Zimbabwe's president who sits as head of the African Union - the very organization that was the brainchild and vision of His Imperial Majesty - speak out and mock the man who funded his very own freedom fight. It's not right.
We needed to be guided by our principles and be blunt in terms of what is right and wrong.
Until we honor our Father, our King...until we honor our true leaders whose policies are based on the Bible, on true leadership, on true principle - Zimbabwe's curse will continue.
